11. Awesome Device

    Can't say enough good things about these little motors. My detailed review and application notes re using with Digitrax DS64 DCC stationary decoder are summarized in the application notes document which contains a wealth of very useful information for these devices.

12. Great Product

    Compared to a leading competitor (Animal name, starts with "T",) the MP5 is much smaller and easier to use. No soldering, for one thing. Mounted the same way, can be set for horiz. or vertical motion (I didn't try the remote adapter.) A little fiddly to open up and change the throw setting, but not bad. I'm running it on 9V to keep the whine lower, it's still quite strong. A keeper.

13. A game changer

    Recently found out about this switch machine from a model railroad friend who has always been a fan of the Peco machines because of their small size. I ordered 2 MP5's and they got here the next day. So far have just been experimenting with them on the work bench but I am impressed with the small size, solid construction, and overall great design. I like the way the connections are done, should be easier when working under layout. I'll be starting some changes on my staging yards soon and these new switch machines will be part of that. And I will be buying more.

14. Excellent low profile switch motor

    This is the perfect motor for those locations that have limited headroom beneath the layout. In fact, I was able to install this motor from above the layout by cutting a rectangle block matching the motor footprint and reconnecting with a one eighth inch thick metal bar. Works perfectly.

15. Versatile, compact switch machine/servo

    Not sure why I’d use a Tortoise or Cobalt again. Lots more clearance under layout. All of the control, mounting and auxiliary switching options that I’ll ever need.

    I love these point motors,and think they are the best ,Really like the two switches as well.I use these on o guage and i do not have a lot of room for larger motors,they operate well.

    This machine was installed in a "G" scale locomotive to turn the head of the Engineer according to the direction of the locomotive. So far - so good.
    

18. Works great with narrow gauge

    I purchased a single MP5 turnout motor to test in my application.
    My layout is of Swiss narrow gauge HOm which represents European meter gauge in 1:87 scale.
    The track is PECO HOm code 75 rail with 12mm spacing.
    The small turnout throw was accamidated by setting the MP5 throw to 3mm
    and using a finer wire than supplied with the MP5 for the drive pin.
    I folded the wire at the end that was secured in the MP5 check gate to make up for the finer wire.
    This provided the proper force to keep the points tight without over powering the turnout.
    
    The MP5 is controlled with a Digitrax DS64 set up for a stall motor turnout.
    The DS64 is powered by a Digitrax PS 14 power supply, not the DCC bus.
    One of the DPDT switches of the MP5 is used to power the turnout's electrofrog.
    The turnouts were modified to DCC compatable, which is required with any turnout motor.
    
    I found all worked well and look forward to benefiting from the MP5 attributes when installing
    the next ten I have purchased.
    
    The MP5 has a good design for operation an ease of installation plus I like the removable terminal connector.

20. Well thought out product

    This is a slick little turnout machine. The motor and gear reduction give it a smooth movement and a positive hold at the end stop. Every adjustment is easily accomplished in all three planes. I picked some "problem" locations to mount the machine and had no trouble fitting it. The plug connector does hang out to the side, but for a "shelf-edge" installation I mounted the machine upside down on spacers to place the plug on the "good" side. I used the "Arduino Relays" as shown on the site as an interface.
