Modern industrial footswitch with an SPST contact.  These are useful for Time Table and Train Order (TT&TO) Dispatchers and Operators who need to keep their hands free for writing and copying orders.  The foot switches can be wired to provide a "stomp to talk" function.  See slides 30-32 of Seth Neumann's "Communications for Model Railroad Operation" for an example of how to use these.
