Product Description

DCC Specialties Jack Light Quad

(Replaces the Jack Wabbit Quad – similar but uses optical sensors to implement auto-throw). We're pleased to offer the DCC Specialties Jack Light Quad, 4 position stationary DCC Decoder for the MP1, MP5 and MP10 Switch Machines.

The Jack Light is a version of the Jack Wabbit Quad Stationary Decoder. The Jack Light has four fully functional intelligent decoders on one printed circuit board. The key feature of the Jack Light is the ability to use up to 8 optical sensors to detect train position. Each sensor, when covered or uncovered, can position all 4 switch outputs to Clear, Throw, or No Change and to set the 4 LED outputs to Red, Green, or No Change.

Jack Light Quad: 4 Outputs on one Stationary Decoder:

  • Auto Throw™: Automatically throws points when a train is approaching against the points, using optical sensors.
  • Smart Route™: Sets up to 6 routes by simple address programming in addition to the primary address.
  • Locked Route Control™: Provides for only one route direction response for a Throw or Clear command.
  • Smart Default Ops™: Programmed power up response to either power off position, Throw, or Clear.
  • Operate Switch Signals or Panel LED Indicators by direct LED connections.
  • DCC Reset: CV 63=42, Sets any or all Addresses and CVs to original factory default values.
  • Reset Decoder by Jumper: Jumper selection resets entire Jack Light to factory default Address and CV’s.
  • Optical Sensor Inputs: 8 optical sensors used to control switch position and LED (signal) status.
  • Direct Current Ops: The Jack Light operates on DC using the optical sensors but requires DCC to program.
  • Automates Train Routing: From simple Auto Throw to complex yard routing and signaling.

Do not set a CV for the snap coil outputs as the MP motors automatically shut off at end of travel. Just wire your MP motor as a 2 or 3 wire device as needed. Per DCC Specialties "All versions have discrete outputs which define the position of each switch output. These are designed for use with the NCE AIU. The AIU allows you to interface discrete inputs to the NCE cab bus. Unlike Digitrax, the NCE sytem does not have the ability to display switch position on the throttle other than to report the last movement. There are no throttle messages that allow the reporting actual switch position on the throttle. We (MRCS) do not recommend the use of LocoNet feedback.
